Our Mission

To provide a comprehensive educational program to expecting and parenting moms and dads, giving them the skills needed to create a positive life for themselves and their children. The program strives to help all students receive a diploma from their local high schools or return to their local school districts to complete their high school education. Students are linked to community resources for ongoing parenting support.

What is Project TEACH?

Project TEACH provides students with specialized academic instruction, life and parenting skills, and career guidance. This year-round instructional program is based on the individual needs and learning preferences of each student. Parenting teens participate in a hands-on learning lab to acquire parenting skills. Additionally on-site licensed day care facilities provide infant and toddler care.

Educational Programs
Educational Programs
  • Serves students between ages 13 and 21 who have not completed high school
  • Accepts students referred by local school districts or placed by a Department of Children and Families, state agencies or the court system
  • Limits class size to no more than 12 students at any one time
  • Provides specialized case management services to support pre- and post-natal linkages to community resources and transitional support
  • Provides each student with an educational program based on the curriculum and graduation requirements of his/her local high school
  • Provides Child Study Team services, as required
  • Provides NJ Certified teachers

Child Care

Our licensed child care centers provide:

  • On site care for infants 0 to 2 ½ years of age
  • Primary care giving by well-trained professionals
  • A loving, safe and stimulating environment
  • Individualized age and developmentally appropriate curriculum

Social and Emotional Support
  • Prepare students for real-world realities through financial literacy programs.
  • Provide individually-designed education plans that support students’ strengths to meet their academic, social, and career needs
  • Provide parenting classes and supports to strengthen families.
  • Provide practical, everyday-life technology applications.
  • Teach students alternatives to anti-social behaviors through conflict resolution and an alignment of the Nurtured Heart Approach and 6 Core Strategies.
  • Incorporate, enhance, and encourage fathers to take an equal role in co-parenting, offering father-centered classes and resources.
